Freemasons traditionally hold dinners known as Festive Boards to celebrate the Saint days of St. John the Baptist and Saint John the Evangelist, who are the patron saints of Freemasonry. These dinners are typically held on or around June 24 and December 27. (For more information on the Holy Saints John and their connection to Freemasonry, visit here.)
As Jackson Lodge was founded on June 11, we have recently begun celebrating the feast day of St. John the Baptist and our Lodge’s anniversary by having a dinner sometime during the month of June. Although not written in stone, typically this takes the form of a summer cook-out at one of the city parks. The events are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. (RSVPs are greatly appreciated, but by no means required.)
Due to scheduling conflicts, this year’s summer cookout will be held in the month of August. An exact date and time will be discussed during the July business meeting.
