Yet another pot is introduced to a kettle.

While doing homework this afternoon, I decided to flip on the 820 and see how the bands were. El crappo, as usual. I listened in for a while to a man talking about how much he wants to get a different antenna up, as he’s currently stuck on 20m. He stated that the band was just too crowded for him. Every time he asks if a frequency is in use, no body answers until he starts calling CQ. THEN they say the frequency is in use.

I agree. Twenty, as well as eighty, are very crowded bands full of people who think they own particular frequencies. “My net’s been meeting here at this time for fifteen years! You willl not force the colostomy survivor net off frequency!”

However, I did notice something odd. The whole time this guy was complaining about crowded bands and inconsiderate operators, he was talking on 14.298 MHZ, jamming a SSTV transmission. If you’re going to gripe about such things, make sure you’re not operating on a calling frequency while another person tries to use it, okay?
