Kyoto What?

By jimrob | July 6, 2008

Remind me again why China is exempted from this “Greenhouse Effect” prevention garbage known as Kyoto?

The Tianjin order follows news on Friday that Tangshan, an industrial city about 150 km (90 miles) east of Beijing, will shut nearly 300 factories this month to improve air quality for the Games.
Tianjin, which will host some of the Olympic soccer matches, will also halt construction at 26 building sites near its stadiums.

Beijing, one of the most polluted cities in the world, has spent 140 billion yuan ($20.43 billion) to combat chronic pollution in its preparations for the Olympics, which open on August 8.

But Chinas capital city was still shrouded in thick smog this week, with buildings just a few hundred feet away barely visible — the kind of air quality that would embarrass the authorities and potentially disrupt sporting events during the Olympics because of health concerns.

From July 1, vehicles that fail to meet emissions standards have been banned from entering downtown Beijing. And from July 20, Beijing will launch a traffic control system to take half of the citys 3 million cars off the road, using an odd-even license plate system.

The Beijing municipal government issued rules in April ordering industrial firms such as Shougang Group, one of Chinas major steel producers, to reduce or stop production from July 20.

So why, again, are the worlds worst pollution producers exempted from the Kyoto Protocol? Why is America called the worlds worst polluter, when stuff like this goes on in China? At least our home-grown smog isn’t so thick you cant see more than fifty feet. (You people in L.A. and N.Y. need to get out more and realize your self-created problems aren’t the norm in America.)

The people who came up with this thing aren’t stupid people. The people who came up with this, world leaders, scientists, etc., are intelligent individuals. They aren’t stupid enough to believe this “America is the worst” garbage. Therefore, it has to be a conspiracy. Here’s my thoughts:

  1. A global socialist conspiracy to hinder the American economy, while forcing us to buy the products of socialist nations.
  2. A plan by the population control sect of our underground global government to force all unhealthy manufacturing practices to China, where they can sicken the populace and reduce their levels.
  3. An effort by manufacturers in developed nations with healthy wage levels to export their low-level, high-paying jobs to another country to control payroll.

Are any of these even plausible? Who knows. There’s a lot of stupid stuff going on in this world, being forced upon us by people who cannot be as stupid as they appear.

Look at Al Gore. The guy isn’t an idiot. Perhaps he’s just highly ignorant, but he’s not stupid. Surely he has to see that the results of his efforts would be a global catastrophe. Does he not care? Is he some big-government tool that seeks to control the little man while living in his huge Tennessee mansion?

Things to think about.
