Update: Getting on the Air
By jimrob | June 21, 2008
A few days ago, I posted on my goal of getting on the air more often. I made good progress today. I worked three stations this afternoon on twenty meters. I worked AB8ZX, who was mobile on I-70 in Eastern Indiana. Later, I worked ZF1DX in the Cayman Islands. Then early this evening, I worked N8XPQ in Michigan.
I had a great QSO with XPQ. He mentioned his rig was an Elecraft K3. Of course, I had to ask how he liked it. He stated it had the best receiver he’d ever heard. Methinks my next radio may be an offering from them, even if it’s only a KX-1 or a K-1.
I decided to celebrate today’s events by making a nice cold Margarita. Yum. hic
