Oh no, I have to pay for my pop!

I’m trying to get away from this whole “I saw it on TV, it pissed me off, now I’m gonna go gripe about it on my blog” thing. I couldn’t help this one though.

Brian Williams, of the NBC Nightly news (I felt like torturing myself this evening so I watched a little network news) when reporting on new airline fees:

“Next they’ll be making us bring our own seats.”

Oh, you cracked a funny. Ha….

“..going to start charging for even just one bag.”

He held up his index finger to reinforce the nature of “one” bag. So they’re going to start charging more for luggage. Big deal. They gotta make money somewhere.

He was most irate about the following.

“…going to charge $2.00 for drinks, calling it a beverage surcharge. Gotta love that.”

Oh my gosh, you’re gonna have to start paying for your drinks now. No more free Cherry Cokes anymore. What a travesty.

I find it hillarious that THIS is what gets the folks at NBC news fuming. Forget the fact that nearly half the cost of a gallon of gasoline is taxes. Forget the fact that Americans pay nearly a third of their income as some form of tax to the government. Instead, rally your viewers to protest United Airlines charging two dollars (a reasonable cost these days) for a drink.
