WorldNetDaily: Electoral college bypass approved by 2nd state
“The current system for electing our president no longer serves America well. The state-by-state method … divides the country into so-called ’safe’ states where voters are all but ignored while the election is determined by a relatively small number of swing voters in ‘battleground’ states. …
It’s all because a Republican wone the Electoral vote and lost the popular vote. That is the ONLY motivation behind this. If Gore had won, none of this would be happening.
Gee, I wish I could be a Democrat. Then I could whine all the time, blame my problems on everyone else, and when I screw things up I’d just blame the opposition party. Life must be good for those socialist morons.
I live in Iowa, a state which could hardly be called a populous one. If this popular vote garbage passes, my voice in federal government will be muted. California and New York would rule the country. I’d never see a presidential candidate.
To the Democrats, however, this is great. No more do they have to worry about us small-town hicks with values. They can just pander to all the immoral morons in the coast states that would love to see this turn into even more of a socialist nation.

I love it. That quote exactly describes the situation should these people get their way.
If the popular vote went to candidate A, but the people of California voted for candidate B, don’t you think they’d be a bit ticked that their votes were thrown away?
