Soooo…. where’s the news?

I found the following link in the Drudge Report box on my personalized Google homepage. When I went to Drudge, it wasn’t there. I dunno if it was taken down, or I just didn’t see it. The headline was “KID’S BBC SITE OFFERS CURIOUS 9/11 EXPLANATION…” I really don’t see what’s so curious about it, other than it’s normality.
CBBC Newsround | Guides | World | 11 September 2001 attacks | Why did they do it?
The way America has got involved in conflicts in regions like the Middle East has made some people very angry, including a group called al-Qaeda - who are widely thought to have been behind the attacks.
In the past, al-Qaeda leaders have declared a holy war - called a jihad - against the US. As part of this jihad, al-Qaeda members believe attacking US targets is something they should do.
When the attacks happened in 2001, there were a number of US troops in a country called Saudi Arabia, and the leader of al-Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, said he wanted them to leave.
I don’t see what is so “curious” about that. Did the BBC not do a good enough job portraying Bin Laden as a goat-raping caveman? Is it because they didn’t push the government story, the one in which we were all just figuratively standing around twiddling our thumbs and were attacked from behind for no reason? “Honest mom, I dunno what happened! I was just standin’ there and he hit me in the back of my head with a toy airplane!”
Washington likes to play the “freedom” angle. We have freedoms, they don’t like freedom, so they attacked us. Some Christians like to play the “holy war” angle. They’re Muslims, we aren’t, therefore they want to lop off all our heads and make us rape goats. The left likes to play the “oil” angle. If we didn’t use all their oil, they’d not hate us. Why don’t these people listen, as annoying and hard as it may be, to what the man who attacked us says? (Granted, I haven’t done such myself. Not only is the content of that madman’s ramblings hard to find, but reading such would probably place me on a watch list.)
From the bits ‘n’ pieces of quotes I’ve picked up from various articles, it boils down to our military bases being in Saudi Arabia, our filthy movies and music that are being spread around the world, and our annoying method of promoting businesses and products that are also pervading the globe. You can’t go anywhere without seeing the golden arches or some slutty actresses’ cleavage on a movie poster.
When you hear “attacked for our freedoms”, think of the word “morals” instead of “freedoms”. We were attacked for the “freedom” we use when producing movies that show nudity. We were attacked for the “freedoms” we use when producing music with horrible messages in it. We were attacked for the “freedoms” we use when doing whatever it takes to shove some unwanted product down a consumer’s throat.
You can’t rightly say that we were attacked because we’re a Christian nation. We aren’t a Christian nation. Not anymore. If we were, we’d show a little decency in public now and then. We support Israel? Okay, but that doesn’t make us a Christian nation any more than supporting Iraq makes us a Muslim nation.
You can’t say we were attacked because of our “thirst for oil”. It is our consumption of oil that funds these people. Quite honestly, if it wasn’t for that fact there wouldn’t be a push in Washington (as minute an effort as it may be) to cure our “addiction to oil”.
Really, what is the shock in this simplistic, honest explanation for 9/11 by the BBC? The fact that it contained no trumped-up, flag-waving appeals to voter groups?
