Minority Maids to Olathe - “We No Go There, Gringo!”

Representatives of the Minority Maids Coalition announced today that they will not be holding their annual convention in Olathe, Kansas this year. MMC President Rosalita Fernandez had the following to say:
“It was brought to my attention that the Olathe Convention Center uses a cleaning product by the name of Spic and Span. I therefore must cancel all arrangements we made with the representatives of Olathe. We will not be holding a national meeting in a place which uses a product as blatantly offensive as this to the proud tradition of immigrant cleaners.”
Olathe Community Betterment Board Vice-President Tom Rodgriguez responded by saying, “Our local economy can’t take this. First we lost the Dry Cleaner’s Association convention because we said we ‘had a chink in the armor defending us against West Nile disease’, then we lost the Potato Grower’s Union meeting because Mickey Mouse appeared at our gay pride festival. Now this. If we aren’t careful, Cabela’s is going to pull out and we’ll lose our only source of tourism.”
Local Hispanics were quoted as saying “Que?”
