I opened my CQ, and what did I see…

Page three of this month’s CQ has a full-page add for a Tokyo Hy-Power amp. Not just any amp, but one of the “new” amps which can be used in the U.S. now, thanks to the FCC dumping the outdated rules regarding amps in the 24-30MHz region.
I wish I could afford one of these puppies… 85-90W drive, 1kW output on ALL HF bands. On top of that, it will amplify on 6m as well. Neat, neat stuff. No more having to mod your kilo-buck amplifier just because some numbnut on CB could use it otherwise.
Don’t get me wrong - I’m a 99% low-power or QRP operator. I don’t even own an amplifier. Still, I think it’s great that our hobby is no longer hindered by moronic CB operators.
