A former Southern Baptist lay minister spurned for his political beliefs and how they relate to his faith, Rob spent a considerable amount of time floating in denominational purgatory. After studying the facts and faiths of various Christian traditions, he settled upon a Reconciling In Christ congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Rob opines on the inconsistencies and theological errors of modern-day toxic Evangelicalism, and how a kinder, loving faith is the right path to follow. He has been published in the Centerville Daily Iowegian, Ottumwa Courier, and Des Moines Register.
Rob served as platform chair for his local Democratic party, a member of his congressional district’s Central Committee, and as a 2016 delegate for Bernie Sanders.
Rob is a 2014 graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. (Don’t hold it against him, politics aside the education is as good as any other institution.)
His hobbies include amateur (ham) radio, woodworking, and gardening. Fishing and shooting on occasion as well, but not often.
